artist statement / contact

I make flat and dimensional sculptures, as well as paintings and movement pieces.  My sculptural work, sometimes taking the form of costumes for dance and theater, is driven by a quest to manifest the energy potential found within inanimate materials and their inherent texture and color. I execute an array of tactics and strategies (layering, pairing, (re)combining, repurposing) to instigate life and emotion through shape and form.  Rather than forcing an outcome for a piece, I work by first laying down a very open map, allowing chemistry, harmony and intuition to motivate the work’s organic evolution and find its ultimate form.

I was born in Whittier, CA

I live and work in Los Angeles, CA
